"I will go in unto the altar of God, To God who giveth joy to my youth."
Psalm 43:4
One way that the youth of our parish can come and serve the Lord is by becoming an Altar Server.
What does an Altar Server do?
An altar server assists in the offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass while providing a liturgical worship experience that is most noble and deserving of God. From transporting processional items such as the crucifix, candles, or incense, to helping prepare and clear the altar, or highlighting the most sacred moments with the ringing of bells, an altar server who is truly committed and devoted to his ministry and the glory of God can transform and elevate the liturgy in such ways that hearts and minds of participants are touched profoundly and drawn to God.
Who can become an Altar Server?
Anyone who is in the 4th grade and has made First Communion, and is willing to serve weekend Masses.
